Get into the Carnival spirit and relish some fantastic feasting on the MidCoast at our upcoming Mardi Gras in Maine celebration at The Craignair Inn’s Causeway Restaurant!
It’s time to mark your calendar for Thursday, February 15th — two days after Fat Tuesday proper — when The Causeway’s Winter Passport Series will be holding the fifth of this season's seven pairing dinners with a can’t-miss smorgasbord, complete with special Mardi Gras cocktails.
There really won’t be a better place to be that evening than our luxurious bed-and-breakfast in Spruce Head, Maine, where a festive dining experience will fill our on-site destination restaurant with plenty of good cheer (and, of course, amazing flavors).
The pairing dinners offered as part of our Causeway Restaurant’s Winter Passport Series are all themed: and focused on everything from particular cuisines of the world to various holiday observances. This next one on tap falls under the latter category as a culinary experience to include in your Mardi Gras celebrations.
Food, after all, is at the center of this traditional party time ahead of the austerities of Lent. The Causeway will be serving some very delicious dishes indeed for its Mardi Gras in Maine event.
Each course of this annual celebration at The Causeway Restaurant will also come paired with Mardi Gras-themed cocktails. Those libations, all of which will feature Pine Tree State spirits, come curated by Roopers Beverage, which operates six locations in Maine. Partnerships with such local businesses are very much part of the M.O. of the Causeway’s pairing dinners, and we couldn’t be prouder to be teaming up with Roopers for Mardi Gras in Maine on February 15th.
Reserving a seat at the table for The Causeway’s Mardi Gras Winter Passport Series dinner would be a delight on any MidCoast Maine visit, but it's even more special around Valentine’s Day. Why not make it a full-on getaway at The Craignair Inn and declare a romantic foodie’s retreat with that special somebody of yours here on the lovely MidCoast?
Indeed, winter’s a wonderful time to cozy up in our historic Spruce Head B&B. The seasonal scenery and quiet are both mighty seductive, and there’s a whole host of things to do: from snowsports and fireside hygge to great Northern Lights viewing and stargazing.
If you’re wondering how to celebrate Mardi Gras (or Valentine’s Day!) this year, look no further than The Craignair Inn and our Causeway Restaurant’s special holiday feast. We also urge you to consider taking in others of the remaining Winter Passport Series pairing dinners: We’ve got Tastes of the French Riviera coming up on Thursday, March 21st, and then, capping this season’s program, a Winter Backyard Barbecue on April 18th.
We hope to see you soon—not at least the evening of February 15th for Mardi Gras in Maine—here at The Craignair Inn!
